Jimmy currently stars as the White Clown in Cirque du Soleil's "O" at the Bellagio on the Las Vegas Strip. For the last few years, he has toured North America as a lead clown in Cirque's KOOZÅ, directed by David Shiner, in Squirm Burpee with the Handsome Little Devils, and in New Belgium Brewing's Tour De Fat. He also created characters for and performed in Franco Dragone's Vegas aquatic spectacle, Le Rêve. He is the founder of the film and theatrical production company LionHeart Theatrics, for which he has directed and produced several music and promotional videos, as well as staging and starring in Samuel Beckett's Act Without Words I & II for Las Vegas' annual Beckett Festival. Originally from Chicago, Jimmy enjoyed many years as a critically-acclaimed actor in a broad variety of physical, contemporary, and classical theaters. He has worked intimately with many world-renowned, award-winning Chicago theatre companies, including Steppenwolf Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Redmoon Theater, and Defiant Theatre to name a few. He is also the recipient of two Joseph Jefferson Awards for acting. "This wonderful performer," the Chicago Tribune raved, "gives as distinctive a performance as any this year." The Chicago Sun-Times described him as "an exceptional physical clown." And the Las Vegas Review-Journal praised his solo show, "Slonina has the precision and control of a master mime, but he also has an actor's sensibility... I can't imagine anyone not having a good time." |
